TEECL has been growing vertically into Power Generation (2009) and Transmission Network (2010). TEECL along with its subsidiary Simran owns 151.55 MW of wind energy assets in the country and plans to expand capacity to 300 MW by 2012 and 1,250 MW by 2017. TEECL won the first of its kind PPP contract in its Transmission vertical, in consortium, to build, finance, operate and transfer with a concession period of 25 years (extendable by 10 years) a 400KV, 2 Nos. 24 bay sub-stations at Rohtak/Sonepat, 100 km long transmission link in Haryana. TEECL will do EPC, Operations and Maintenance work for the sub-station part of the project and is likely to be commissioned by Dec’11. This is the first intra-state Power Transmission project in the country, which has been awarded under the concept of Public Private Partnership (PPP) on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBOFT) basis with the provision of Viability Gap Funding support from the Central Government.

About Simran Wind Project Ltd.
 
Simran Wind Project Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of Techno Electric Engineering Company has an installed capacity of 117.9 MW of wind energy generation.. The company’s existing capacity has been successfully registered on February 19th, 2011 with UNFCC for 50,000 CER’s. Simran’s 7.5 MW of existing capacity has been successfully registered with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) for GBI.
 
 
About Jhajjar KT Transco Pvt.Ltd
 
TEECL, in consortium, was successful in bagging an award for the establishment, operation and management of a 400-KV, 100-km long transmission link connecting 24 bay sub-stations at Rohtak and Sonepat to evacuate 1,320 MW (2 x 660) from the Jhajjar Power Plant built by China Light and Power, Hong Kong. The Haryana government, for the first time in the country, introduced a pioneering PPP model with viability gap funding to select bidders on a competitive basis for a concession period of 25 years (extendable by another five years). This is a milestone which incorporates the best efficiencies of the public and private sectors in the interest of consumers. This opportunity opens up prospects of forward integration, business retrofitting and faster business growth.Of the total capital expenditure of Rs 382 cr, the government will provide a grant of Rs 94 cr while the rest has already been funded by IDFC. TEECL’s special purpose vehicle will generate an annual income of Rs. 54 crore through this business for 25 years (extendable by 10 years).
 
About Patran Transmission Company Limited
 
TEECL was successful in bagging a concession from PFC Consulting Ltd for building a transmission Network at Patran, Punjab. The concession has been awarded on Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) basis for a period of 35 years.
The project is being developed through Patran Transmission Company Limited, s SPV 100% acquired by TEECL from PFC Consulting Ltd. The Rs 200 crore project will be completed by May 2016 and will have a debt to equity ratio of 75 : 25. Financial closure has already been achieved. SPV will have an average revenue of approximately Rs 30 Crores annually with an EBIDTA level of 95%. SPV will have an income flow of approximately Rs 1000 crore as transmission charges over the concession period.
The 400 KV Transmission System comprises of LILO of Both circuits of Patiala-Kaithal 400 kV Double Circuit triple snow bird Line art Patran (5 KM) and 400/220 kV Substation with 14 Bays at Patran, Punjab. The inter-state network will have a system capacity to evacuate 1200 MW of power.
